Exciting finale to ILCA First Sunday summer series.

The summer series of King George’s ILCA First Sunday concluded today, 06-Sep-26.

Thirteen ILCAs were greeted by a warm, sunny, and breezy day. The leader board was close at the top coming into the final day.

It remained a three way contest until the final race with Pete taking the line and the series.

Pete got a bottle of wine, but everyone at the prize-giving got a prize.

The winter series starts on the first Sunday of October, and we aim to have two races each month until March.

ILCA First Sunday

We have been running ILCA First Sunday for a couple of years now. Because we can't all sail every Sunday, we all try to make the first Sunday of the month the day we make sure we sail our ILCAs, so there is always competition. It has really boosted our ILCA fleet, and not just on the first Sundays. We run it as a separate competition, with summer and winter series. And there are prizes, not big prizes, but everyone attending the prize-giving gets one.
