Congratulations to Alex and Lucy Corby for winning the 2009 Cadet RYA East Area Championships.
Not only did the KGSC/FGSC siblings win the 20 boat event held at Grafham Water SC but they won every race.
Alex started helming cadets towards the end of 2008 after having been a crew  for 2 years.
Lucy started her sailing career from scratch in late 2008 by crewing for her brother.
This winter Alex and Lucy are delighted to be training with the "RYA National Junior Squad".
Entry to the squad is highly coveted and reserved for the top 8 Under 15 helms in the country.
This is determined primarily by competing in 3 large National events known as "indicators"  such as the National Championships.
Also flying the KGSC flag this year was Jack Turner and Max Turnpenny who finished in a very credible 4th overall at the RYA East Area Champs..
Both Alex and Jack could be seen during the summer, dragging their old Dads around the Thursday Evening Race course in the front of their RS200's.
